Tech, life and everything else

Welcome to my corner of the internet, where I share a bit about IT, but even more about my personal life, experiences, and thoughts!

Here is a (somewhat older – from 2022) photo of me:

What there is to know about me:

  • I am 26 years old and live in Braunschweig (northern Germany) with my fiancée, who is currently on her way to becoming a teacher.
  • In 2017, I graduated from high school and started studying computer science, which I finished in 2021. Through my dual study program, I didn’t just earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (focusing on Software Engineering), but I am also a certified IT specialist for application development.
  • Tech, computers, and software have always been my thing. Back in school, I participated in “Jugend forscht” several times and even won some prizes. During my school days, I also enjoyed programming Android apps.
  • Even today, programming remains my biggest hobby. For instance, I develop the software for this blog entirely myself, but I also enjoy building other tools or scripts for specific use cases where I feel I need a custom solution (lately, often with the help of AI). The code can be found on GitHub and my own Git server.
  • Professionally, I spent a lot of time in the automotive industry, but in 2025, I switched to the security sector and now work on software that helps manage certificates. While I mainly stick to Go as my programming language of choice for private projects, it’s Java at work. However, I also enjoy tinkering with databases, whether it’s small SQLite databases (for my hobby projects), PostgreSQL, or Oracle. I see myself as a generalist (though “Full-Stack Developer” sounds nicer), so I’m not above doing frontend work, even if I prefer backend development. You can also find me on LinkedIn.
  • Since 2014 (though nothing from back then is still online), I’ve been writing blog posts on the internet. By now, everything is centered on this blog (in both English and German).
  • When I’m not sitting in front of a monitor or one of the screens of all my devices (probably too many), you might find me out on my bike, hiking, traveling, or trying to stop the physical decline with bodyweight training.
  • When I travel, I prefer to go by train. I have already traveled to the following countries by rail: Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, England, and Scotland. And a few more along the way.
  • The fact that I haven’t flown in years is one of the measures I’ve taken to maintain a lifestyle that is as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.
