James replied to my programming post.

If I had to describe coding in one word, the word I would choose is “empowering.”

Yes, that’s the right word!

Being able to write a simple Python script can save time, sure. But it can also be incredibly fun. One can make a game with code. Or build a website. Or do a repetitive task that may be tedious.

Sure, after all, programming is a lot of fun, I think. 😁

I found out that Google Translate provides a hidden but freely available Text-To-Speech API and used it to improve the read aloud feature in GoBlog. Just let this post be read aloud right here to see how it looks now. 😉

GitHub has a new web-based editor based on Visual Studio Code. For me, this fulfills one use case in particular: if you want to browse code to see how certain things were implemented in other projects, this editor now allows you to easily jump to references. This way you don’t have to tediously open many tabs and manually search for files. And it is probably also much easier to look at pull requests this way.

I have posted photos of Denmark, but Flensburg also has some nice corners.

For our second anniversary, we gave Denmark 🇩🇰 a second chance yesterday and visited Sønderborg. A really nice city! And I can’t believe that it’s been two years already together with my wonderful girlfriend! ❤️

After the bus driver only wanted to take us to the German-Danish border and we still had to walk a few kilometers, we found a cozy spot by the water.

A new Miniflux release

At first I didn’t perceive the new Miniflux release as something special, at first glance I couldn’t see any big changes in the changelog.

But Ru’s post drew my attention to a new feature:

Added option to hide categories from the global unread list

Finally I can subscribe to news feeds again and just look through the entries when I feel like it!

What I’m still missing: Hiding individual feeds as well. This would be a chance to do some coding while on vacation and create a pull request…

Update: I decided to not only talk, but do something. I submitted a pull request with the feature.
