I started working on plugins for GoBlog using a Go module I recently discovered: yaegi. It still feels like magic, because Go is typically a compiled language and yaegi makes it dynamic by embedding an interpreter. Is this overkill for GoBlog or does this possibly enable flexibility like WordPress plugins?

Jan Boddez I’d say go for it. I added “plugins” to my RSS reader, which only I use! Simply because I wanted it to remain, at its core, the simplest of feed readers, and at the same time kind of wanted a weather widget, the ability to add custom CSS, “checkin maps,” and minimal Microsub support. Plugins let you do exactly that, abstract away all the fluff.
Anonymous Agree to Jan B. This is also how I make software extensible: add a lua interpreter. Small enough to use less resources than your average runtime (even libc), but sufficiently powerful to do meaningful things. Pun intended with "go" for it?!
