On the last evening of my work trip, I finally figured out how to set up a WireGuard VPN container and port forwarding for my home server to use my travel router (GL-MT3000) to connect to home and have a WiFi network giving me my home IP address (including IPv6). But I guess now it’s a solid and secure setup for future travels. wg-easy is pretty simple to setup.
Theoretically, I could use NetBird with an exit node on all my devices, but I prefer something that doesn’t need an extra app running all the time. Also, I might share the WiFi with my wife on future travels.
