Instead of using Instagram, I prefer uploading pictures to my blog. Everyone can view them there without creating an account and visitors don’t get any ads or are tracked.
Why spend 80 € on a simple cap? Because it fits my big head perfectly, is very comfortable, offers good sun protection, is high-quality, and also keeps me from being blinded by the sun. With this cap and my hat, my collection of summer headwear should now be complete.
We recently had a test photo shooting with our wedding photographer. The photos that came out of this session are beautiful. I took the chance to finally update my profile picture (the last one was from 2022) with a cropped version of one of the new photos. My appearance has actually changed quite a bit, especially over the past year. I have new glasses, a beard now, and shorter hair.
For the regular planning workshop at work (my second since I started), I have to be in Schwäbisch Hall from Monday to Wednesday. As train tickets are cheaper on Saturday than on Sunday and I was eager to explore the city anyway, I decided to already arrive yesterday (Saturday). Today (Sunday) I did my planned city discovery.
I took my bike out for a short ride again yesterday. The last days it was rainy and stormy, but yesterday, there was a bit of sun again. Also wind, but I took it relaxed. Nature also really calmed me down. I haven’t really realized sunset is so late, and I can still easily start a short ride in the evening.
The moment when you finally deploy a change on which you worked over some days, trying to think through every possible use case and scenario, and you just hope it’s working flawlessly. 🙏
Yesterday was a tough day, even though that wasn’t the plan at all. It was a holiday and the weather was perfect, so I figured I might as well go for a bike ride. What else was I going to do…
We spent our first vacation this year in a small flat on the North Sea coast of Lower Saxony. It was windy at times, but generally quite nice and relaxed. We visited a couple of museums, saw a few small towns in that area, spent a couple of hours at a seawater pool, and also did a boat trip to watch seals.
I re-enabled my old trusty 2013-manufactured Lenovo ThinkPad S1 Yoga which I used during my studies. I had Ubuntu 24.04 installed on it for some time but never really used it. But now, I upgraded it to the latest development build of Ubuntu 26.04 to check the current state of Ubuntu and Linux on the desktop. And to check if I really switch to it as my main operating system.
According to the weather forecast, today was supposed to be the last day of reasonably good weather and warm temperatures for the foreseeable future. So I really wanted to go on a short bike ride today after work. In the end, the ride wasn’t that short, but because I made sure not to overexert myself, it wasn’t any more tiring than a 20 km ride, even though it was 40 km. And that was despite the fact that I still had sore muscles and didn’t sleep very well and much last night. Towards the end of the tour, a few drops of rain fell from the sky, but I’m not made of sugar.
