Tech, life and everything else
Instead of using Instagram, I prefer uploading pictures to my blog. Everyone can view them there without creating an account and visitors don’t get any ads or are tracked.

Rahul writes about the “app subscription fatigue”. I don’t currently subscribe to apps through the Play Store, but I do pay monthly or yearly for some digital services. Therefore I decided to make an overview of all my subscriptions to get an overview of my monthly costs for subscriptions.

This year I once spent my summer vacation not with my family but with my girlfriend (going on vacation alone feels so grown up somehow… 😅). I spent two weeks with her at the bay of Lübeck. To switch off from everyday life and relax. 😌

It was a nice evening yesterday with interesting discussions about different IndieWeb topics! I also used the writing hour to write some code for my custom CMS and it’s progressing well…

It was a nice HWC on Wednesday. (I already wanted to post this photo yesterday, but had to repair my Micropub media endpoint first…)

I have too many clothes that I don’t wear anymore and there’s too much stuff in my wardrobe. So I use my holidays to move into another room and get rid of the old stuff. That’s fun (not really…)! 😅

There’s a huge park near my flat and on days with great weather 🌤️ it’s a real pleasure walking through the park. Green trees 🌳, fresh air 🌬️ and the feeling of being outside the city 🏙️. It’s really nice. 😌

I bought myself a cheap glass jug to always have enough water in reach. Stay hydrated! 🚰

The attached picture is a visualization of the streets in my home town. I generated this picture with the website “city roads”. This site has been around for a while, but a link post from Julio Biason reminded me to share the link as well. With this site it is possible to display only the streets of a city or surroundings on a plain background.

I almost never play computer games, but what I sometimes like are classic logic games like Minesweeper or Sudoku. And I must say, the versions from GNOME (on Linux), GNOME Mines and GNOME Sudoku are really nice. Simple design, plain and focused on the game with the most important features. I have also just discovered on the GNOME Wiki that there are a number of other simple games available, like 2048, Four in a row or Chess (Chess is probably not so simple). I install most apps via Flatpak and Flathub, but most distributions should also have them directly in their repositories. The advantages of Flatpak are that it is very easy to install and you always get the latest version.
