Instead of using Instagram, I prefer uploading pictures to my blog. Everyone can view them there without creating an account and visitors don’t get any ads or are tracked.

There are Corona news all the time. Kindergartens and schools in Lower Saxony are closed until the second half of April. Also, presence lectures at universities no longer take place. That means no lectures for me but studying from home.

It’s probably raining soon, but that’s why I went to the park to catch some of the remaining sun light and enjoy the warm weather (14°C at the end of February). 🌥️ Going for a walk is nice too. 🚶🏻‍♂️

The ActivityStreams module for Hugo should work with image attachments too. This is a test post to see how they are displayed on Mastodon.

Since I have holidays at the moment and don’t want to spend all my time at home in front of the computer, I decided to go hiking today. However, the place I had chosen was not the best choice. In the forest it was very muddy and my shoes and clothes looked accordingly.

It’s nice to spend some time with the family and visit the zoo in Zurich. There were also some Australian animals. They have it probably much better there than their conspecifics in Australia.

Going to the cemetery always reminds me what a precious gift life is and how grateful I am to be alive and that I am also doing so well.

Tinify

Tinify or TinyPNG or TinyJPEG is the service I use to automatically compress and resize images uploaded to my micropub media endpoint. It’s a great service with a nice developer API that also offers a free limit of 500 compressions per month and has a pay-what-you-use policy after that (but I won’t upload more than 500 images per month anyway). I use a library written in Go to use the API.
