My January ‘26 in Review
January is now behind us, making it the first month of 2026 to come to a close. Time to take a quick look back.
For me, January was the second month in my new job. I’m really enjoying it so far. The topic of certificate management is interesting as well. During the last few days of January, I was in Schwäbisch Hall for work, as the whole team met there to plan the next release and get to know each other better through team-building activities. After the initial months consisted mostly of testing and bug-fixing tasks, there will be more development work again in the coming months, which I’m looking forward to.
Aside from that, our wedding planning also made some progress this month. We now have a singer to accompany the ceremony and a DJ for the evening. My fiancée found a dress. And we’ve already had our first three dance lessons. In February, I’ll have to take care of a suit, and we still need to find a caterer and wedding rings (or maybe forge them ourselves?).
Last but not least: Fitness went better again in January. I did something almost every day. Workouts two or three times a week, with recovery or mobility exercises in between using the Freeletics app. I even bought a foldable fitness mat specifically for the business trip so I could stay active in my hotel room. At home, my new power station is waiting for me. During a hike yesterday, my hip didn’t complain once – a sign that I’m actually becoming more mobile and flexible?
