My March ‘25 in Review
⚠️ This entry is already over one year old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed. My monthly review is a few days late, but there’s so much to do that I don’t really get around to blogging.
In March we really did move back from Kassel to Braunschweig. We handed in the apartment on March 13. Before that, we had to quickly pack up all the things, dismantle the furniture, etc. It’s a good thing I took a week’s vacation for this, otherwise we probably wouldn’t have made it in time. We had plenty of help with the move itself. However, I had also booked helpers via an intermediary platform, who we were able to send home after just one hour, because loading and unloading all the moving goods went much faster than planned.
What doesn’t go so quickly, however, is setting up after the move. Some boxes are still not cleared out and things are not yet in their final place. This may be partly due to the volume, but also partly because the second move, from my former second home, will only take place in April. But when that’s done, I’ll be so relieved.
Nevertheless, I didn’t miss the opportunity to take part in the Critical Mass again this month. A statement for better cycling infrastructure. 🚲
Another topic that kept me busy last month was the sale of Komoot and my search for alternatives. I think I’ve found a viable alternative in OsmAnd (Pro), which is also open source and much more extensive in terms of functionality than Komoot.
I originally wanted to largely ignore US politics, but looking at the increasingly red portfolio doesn’t make that so easy. After all, it’s spring now, it’s getting warmer and I can spend more time outside again.
