From two and a half homes to one

We live in a world where buying and owning stuff is the default. New clothes? Sure. Another gadget? Why not?
Even though starting my job has put me in a situation where I can sometimes afford stuff just like that, and maybe buy the occasional thing without thinking much when I should have before, I still make sure to keep the number of things I own low.

I just watched a video by Matt D’Avella. His channel is not new to me, some time ago I already dealt with the topic of minimalism more deeply. But the video made me think about it again.
Thanks to @hacdias, I found this nice project: Awfice - the world smallest office suite.
Thanks to Steven Ovadia’s post, I discovered the newsletter of Scott Nesbitt and the “musing” “On Minimalism”. This text, as well as some others that I have read, really speaks from my heart.
Like two or three weeks ago, I was a little bored and thought about installing something new on my server again. Yes, I really like installing “things” (it’s actually just adding some lines of configuration to a file), especially when those things improve my life in some way. I installed Miniflux and using it really opened my eyes about the way I consume news. If you don’t want to host Miniflux yourself, like I do (which allows me to tweak the configuration), there’s also a very cheap hosted version for just some bucks a year.

So, here I am again. Back with no creativity, no ideas and no plan. I (including my brain) am melting due to the heat and the stress of the last weeks of studying somehow erased my brain. I have absolutely no idea what to write about, so I write about that and about what’s up in my life.
Lately I got deep into the topic “minimalism”. I read a lot of online articles, started to read a book, watched some YouTube videos and even the Minimalism Documentary. I want to become a minimalist, get rid of most things I own and live a more meaningful life, which isn’t defined by my consumption. But hell, that isn’t easy.
