Almost two months ago, I switched back to Ubuntu as my primary operating system. While I still have a Windows 11 VM, I never really use it. Ubuntu 26.04 fits all my needs I had since switching to it. While I installed it during the beta, the final LTS version has also been released since then.

I admit it, I am a big fan of pre-packaged software. Software that I simply set up by typing a single command or just adding a few lines to my existing configuration. I like simplicity and this kind of software makes things a lot easier and lets one focus on getting work done.

I have just updated my Nextcloud install from Nextcloud 16 to Nextcloud 17. It’s a Docker-based installation on my Odroid HC2, which I use for a lot of self-hosted softwares. (Thanks to Docker I can forget about all things PHP!)

For about a month now, I do journaling again. Every evening before I go to bed, I try to write down everything that comes to my mind. I usually write what I have done that day, what my emotions where and other things that I thought about during the day. It has a very positive effect to do that. I wrote about that more detailed on my German blog.

Visual Studio Code is an awesome text editor. It is in fact my favorite one. I use it for writing blog posts, I use it for looking at code (although I prefer JetBrains IDEs for actual coding) and I use it whenever I need a text editor.

Technology is awesome. Technology can simplify life, but it can also be fun. Playing with technology (doesn’t matter if it’s software or hardware) always fascinated people. And I’m one of them.
