What’s minimalism?
We live in a world where buying and owning stuff is the default. New clothes? Sure. Another gadget? Why not?
But there’s a catch: Every single thing we own demands something from us. It needs space, maintenance, organization. It’s like each possession comes with an invisible task attached to it.
Think about moving to a new place or searching for something in a messy drawer. Frustrating. Sometimes our things, which should make life easier, actually complicate it.
What fascinates me about minimalism isn’t the idea of owning nothing – it’s the freedom that comes with owning less. It’s like the difference between traveling with a heavy suitcase versus a simple backpack.
I’m not saying we should get rid of everything. Some things truly improve our lives. The question is: Where’s the sweet spot? When do our possessions stop being helpful and start becoming a burden?
For me, minimalism is not about having less just for the sake of it. It’s about making room for what’s actually important to us.
I’m not a true minimalist – yet.
