⚠️ This entry is already over one year old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed.

I tried GitHub Copilot (Free) in Visual Studio Code again for some small GoBlog changes. Copilot can now generate tests (although it doesn’t feel intelligent, as you need to correct quite a few things), it can do code reviews before committing and it can generate commit messages. Of course, it can also do code completions and write complete code, if you want it to do so.

I guess it will just be a matter of time before it can also run and debug the generated code.

Kind of scary?

Just imagine when it can also read user stories and implement them, fix bugs, deploy the code, maintain the infrastructure and take part in refinement and estimation meetings. 😅

If that happens, I might need to retrain as an electrician or something like that.
