After a tough last weekend, a little cold, and bad weather, I was really exhausted and not in the best mood this week. But I knew the weather would be great on Friday, so I planned a bike tour. A 47-kilometer round trip north where there aren’t many hills.

Yesterday was Friday, and after I finished work, the first thing I did was to install the new Suntour SP12 NCX suspension seatpost. I noticed all the other bikes in the basement have a suspension seatpost, and I wondered why I hadn’t thought of it for my own sporty bike before. After I put it on, I got everything ready for the trip.

The ride was so nice. The bike lanes were great, the sun was shining a bit, and for half the trip, I had a great tailwind. I felt strong and was able to push through well, probably because I drank enough (with electrolytes and carbohydrates) and didn’t forget to eat. I even felt like I could have done 80 km.

When I got back home, the sun was just setting. I was so happy again!

The seatpost was a great investment. It really is a game-changer! Why did I never think of that before?
