MCP plugin for GoBlog

Using AI, I just added a new (experimental) plugin to GoBlog, one that finally leverages app passwords, now that I’ve overhauled the authentication system some time ago. The plugin implements MCP, short for Model Context Protocol.

What’s the point?

The main driver was curiosity, of course, but there’s actually a practical use case.

Every month, I write my monthly review. These are pretty much the only posts I publish in both German and English. I always draft them in German first, then translate the text. To make the process smoother (and to ensure the English version sounds like me) I set up a chat agent in n8n. It used to read the RSS feed of the English section of my blog, but now it uses MCP to analyze my style and translate the text in my own words.

That said, I usually still tweak the result afterward.

And to make sure the AI doesn’t break anything or start publishing posts on its own, the MCP endpoint is read-only.

Update (2026-03-03): I added some more tools to the MCP endpoint, but also removed my n8n translation workflow. In Mistral’s Le Chat it’s possible to integrate custom MCP servers. It’s much more fun to chat with your blog there. 😄
