My 5G internet has worked again flawlessly since Friday afternoon. I have the suspicion it’s because, since today, there are new laws that define when mobile providers underperform and people have the right to reduce their bills; but it might also be just a reconfiguration or upgrade of cell towers nearby. I noticed the internet got faster as well, now with download speeds often about 400 Mbps (instead of 350 before, with a contract limit of 500) and upload speeds of 60 Mbps (instead of 35 before, with a contract limit at 50). So at least in one direction I get more than I paid for. 😅 But on Thursday I will also get a fiber connection and can set up dual WAN then.

A reader pointed out to me today that the styling of buttons on my sites was broken in the Firefox ESR version 78. I took this notice as a reason to search for the root cause, because I had already noticed the error in the Tor browser, but I always thought it was due to some security rules.

It gets worse and worse… My spam folder collects more and more emails from some Chinese spammers who want to sell me masks against corona. No thanks, I’m not interested.

The problems with hard wrapping email body text

Published on in 🔗 Links

Martin Tournoij has written an article about line breaks in emails. Some people think that in text emails, lines should not be longer than ~78 characters. I also find that emails that have been adjusted to this limit look terrible on the smartphone because the maximum width is narrower than 78 characters.
