Walking through the park. 🚶♂️ I’ll definitely miss this nice area once we move away from Kassel! 🌇

When I read this article by Herman Martinus, creator of Bear Blog and some other projects, about how he stays motivated as a solo creator, it triggered some thoughts about my own career.
Some IndieWeb protocols are complicated and there are sometimes no programming libraries to simplify the use of them, but ActivityPub is another beast. Although the standard is documented, the way the specific implementations (Mastodon etc.) work often isn’t and it’s hard to debug. So huge respect for the big rework. 👍
I started my fediverse journey with Mastodon, the most popular fediverse / ActivityPub software out there. First I joined a public instance, then I temporarily hosted my own instance, forgot about the fediverse, joined again on a public instance some months later and eventually settled with my own Pleroma instance, which is now running for almost a year.

As Android developer, you know the problem: You didn’t work on your project for a longer time and when you start working on it again you first need to update dozens of dependencies and it’s really annoying to browse hundreds of GitHub repositories to search for the latest versions.
